Hayahay Cafe, El Nido in Palawan

"Very nice cafe with good decor, lovely staff, tasty food and decent local coffee. We just stayed for breakfast which was great. The staff help me pick out and grind some locally farmed Filipino coffee to use back at the hotel a the rest of our travels. Distance from the beach was great! They had a co-working space but it was just being renovated (we went in the off season) so people were working in and outside the cafe. I tested the wifi speeds and they were good enough for remote working and video calls. Overall would recommend weather you are just looking for some good breakfast/lunch options, need a decent coffee or need to get some work done"

"The only decent coffee place in the area serving espresso based drinks. Although the beans they use are very dull tasting, thet still make good coffee. If they were to switch to single origin coffee, their coffee game would step up to specialty coffee. Lots of waiters given the small size, so service is super fast. Card payment works without extra charge - big plus given most places avoid processing card payments."

"We tried this place because we were on beach and it started raining, so we didn’t expect anything too special. We were happily surprised by the menu and the food itself! I’m allergic to nuts and peanuts and our waitress took care of my dishes with the chef in order to make them 100% safe for me. The quinoa was great and the chicken served in it was delicious My boyfriend got a smoothie bowl and it was really nice presented and fresh too. Our waitress, Deb, has been super sweet and kind all the time Really a nice experience overall!"

"The quality of ingredients is outstanding. Everything is fresh, made from high quality ingredients and attention to detail. The staff is super friendly and patient when it comes to answering the questions. Interior is beautiful. Unfortunately, the coffee isn't made on speciality beans, it's made on dark roast so we couldn't try flat white here. The coffee is under-extracted. The grind was likely too coarse or uneven."

"The service here is absolutely divine, attentive and always with a smile, we thoroughly enjoyed both of our visits to this cafe. The flat white was great, the smoothies and chocolate cake were amazing. The pulled pork and chicken burgers were wonderfully flavoured and filling. We send our regards to the waitress Joy, she is a real sweetheart!"

"Amazing brunch experience on Vanilla Beach, we came here twice and the staff are always so friendly and sweet. Thank you for being so attentive to our needs and making sure our coffee orders come just right (non-dairy alternatives are plentiful here). We love this spot!"

"Very nice chilled vibe, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are so lovely which contributed to the atmosphere. The food is delicious, would recommend the falafel mezze. Had a little bit of the cookie that comes with the coffee and it was unreal, would get that next time."
